How to allow data entry only into specific worksheet cells in Excel
One of the main problems in Microsoft Excel is that people can enter any kind of data in any worksheet cell unless and until we ensure that through data validation that only a certain kind of data is entered. Often we also need to ensure that data entry is allowed only in certain specific cells so that calculations and analysis are accurate.
The process of implementation of data entry in specific cells:
- We select the area and lock it
- We then unlock the area where the user is allowed to enter the data
- Now we protect the sheet with or without a password and ensure that the user can access only the unlocked area
