Clear Conditional Formatting in Excel

How to clear conditional formatting in Excel worksheets
You can clear the conditional formatting in Excel worksheets only after you have identified the areas of the worksheet where such formatting has been done. Another option is to use a check-box.

  • Click in any area of your worksheet that has no conditional formatting applied, for example, any header
  • Click on the Home tab
  • Go to the Editing Group and click on the drop-down arrow next to ‘Find & Select’
  • Select the option Conditional Formatting from the drop-down menu
  • We will notice that all the areas containing conditional formatting applied to them are automatically selected
  • In the Home tab we can see a group called Styles
  • Click on the drop-down arrow next to conditional formatting
  • Hover your mouse over the clear rules from the visible menu
  • Now we are offered two options: Clear Rules from Selected Cells and Clear Rules from Entire Sheet
  • You can select either of them
  • The conditional formats will be removed
