Practical Solution Using SUMPRODUCT

I enter the date and name of employees in an Excel worksheet. In another column I enter whether an employee came on the scheduled time with a blank or ‘no’ when she was late. Our company monitors attendance violations every month (30 days) and if an employee is late on 3 days in a month he is ‘counseled’.
I would like to automate my Excel worksheet in such a way that if there are 3 cells in the third column (attendance violation) that are not blank in a period of 30 days, I should get a message like ‘counseling required’.
At present I’m doing this manually and it is quite time consuming.
Another excellent explanation of sumproduct is provided here.
