Trim Function in Excel

Trim is an Excel function that helps to remove trailing, leading or other unnecessary spaces like double spaces between words from data. Why is this important? Functions like Vlookup and countif among others, for example, give erratic results if the unnecessary spaces are not removed. In the creation and use of user-forms also we used the trim function to check whether one of our (‘name’) textboxes was blank. The training video describes the situation in detail.
